IT WAS A WEIRD NIGHT TBH, because we were all on a high from KILT! and THEY DANCE TOGETHER and there was a video that Darren did for some website where he was in his prom outfit so we KNEW WHAT BLAINE LOOKED LIKE FOR PROM. SO THERE WAS THAT.
That was also the time of the ongoing PiP ~parallels~
But the Karofsky as PK thing I remember being like, “… ofc” and it was gross and horrible and I HATED IT, but I was able to roll with it because Kurt didn’t have to have to dance with him (we didn’t know about the hallway creys) and TBH there was just SO MUCH going on at the time in Kurtship fandom that it was… basically if you’ve seen the end of s3 Buffy when they fight the mayor before his ascension and blow the school up?
It was sort of like that.
LOL! I remember that! I dunno - this fandom feeds on drama. It was fun and stupid and like getting drunk with a bunch of people in a really loud room where we all have to shout to be heard.
“DID YOU HEAR WHAT HAPPENED?!”
“I TOOOOOOOOTALLY DID!”
“ISN’T IT AWESOME?” “WHAAAAAAAAT!” And then someone logs on, going “What happened? Why is everyone speaking in caps?” And everyone in their ship pretty much climbs over each other to be the first to scream, “PROOOOOOOOM!”
And then you had Kummers with the Pretty In Pink references (Hey! Sam was poor and wore a bolo tie to Prom! Just like that other guy! Kum is endgame!). And you had Pirates sobbing to Angela Lansbury’s singing voice, as well as other Pirates going, “…but this might be sad for Kurt, tho.” And most other Pirates going “BUT THEY’LL DANCE, THO.” And then fake pictures and kilt fics and rabid speculation.
I mean, Pirates don’t need a lot to get excited about things, but this was like THE ENTIRE FANDOM were Pirates with “Max Just Tweeted” energy.
Pirate energy can be a bit of a let down, though. I remember Max’s “All the t-shirts and Nutella worked! Karofsky is on!” tweet over what turned out to be a 90-second scene.
