I really don’t want Sebofsky to happen tbh.

I kinda feel that if it happens then it’s a cop out that they let these kids tell them how to run their show instead of having what they have been writing, foreshading, planning for

Unpopular-er opinion, I’m kind of more comfortable with Sebofsky then Kurofsky at this point. There are only six episodes left, so that might be enough time to develop a romance between two unattached characters (read: might, and that’s pushing it because Sebastian and Dave are both second string, unlike graduating main characters Rachel, Kurt, Mike, Puck, Santana and Finn). But it’s not enough time to do that between one unattached character and one who’s been in a committed relationship that is still being depicted as positive - there’s just not enough time to explain the break up, have an explainable mourning period that does justice to both Blaine’s and Kurt’s characters, then have Dave and Kurt get together.

Plus, any romance with Dave right now would have to be really carefully written and developed. He just attempted to hang himself - that speaks to some very large personal problems and he’s going to have to recover from that before getting into a romantic relationship with anyone else.

And I’m afraid that if RIB tried to put him into a romantic relationship too quickly, it would end up looking like romantic love solves all psychological problems and that is a completely untrue and unhealthy mindset that has failed time and again with characters like, oh I don’t know, QUINN. Moreover, I’m afraid that if RIB tried to put him into a romantic relationship too quickly with Kurt, it would end up looking like Kurt is responsible for and capable of healing Dave’s psychological issues - which again, is NOT healthy.

Kurt is the best possible friend for Dave but Dave will still require therapy, counseling, and even maybe medication to achieve a clean bill of mental health. It actually reminds me a LOT of Lucy Hale’s The Worst that Could Happen - a brilliant fic that demonstrated that Kurt couldn’t help Dave by himself and Dave still required medication, treatment, psychologists, etc.

Frankly, he needs friendship first, true friendship, friends he can finally express himself with and be himself with, and that’s the kind of story I want him to have.

My ultimate storyline for Dave right now would be him transferring back to McKinley, joining New Directions, and graduating as an openly gay student with the rest of the gang and maybe, possibly, and tentatively expressing romantic feelings with someone else (Sebastian, maybe, or Trent). That, right there, is the absolute best I can hope for him and even now I’m afraid to want too much, since it would be really easy and totally characteristic of RIB to fuck off with Dave’s storyline and never have him on the show again.

He’s more a plot device than a character to the writers, and it wouldn’t be at all unlike them to use him for a suicide storyline to get ratings on how “special and aware” they are of current issues and then not even bother to show him recovering and moving on from a suicide attempt, which would be an inspiring, useful, and timely message that has very rarely been dealt with on TV. TV’s good at showing shocking things like suicides, but it doesn’t deal very often with people who have recovered or are in the recovery period from such things.
